Chocolate chip cookie recipes that don't come from grandma
Being on a diet can be a real drag, but having a bulging stomach and thighs might, by some, be considered to be a worse fate. So all of you watching your girlish (or boyish) figures, take heed and pay close attention. We have some great chocolate chip cookie recipes just for you. You can remain well within the restrictions dictated by whatever fad diet is hot now in Hollywood and still cheat without cheating. Your basic diet chocolate chip cookies
Actually this recipe is very versatile and almost anything you like can be added in lieu of chocolate chips. If your more of a raisin or peanut butter lover, go ahead- and don't be shy, remember, you're not really cheating, it just feels that way with these chocolate chip cookie recipes. Start with this one:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup diet margarine (bring it to room temperature)
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup Sugar Twin
- 1/4 cup low-fat milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon flavoring (i.e. lemon, almond, etc.)
- 10 ounces sugar free chocolate chips
Mix together the margarine, egg, milk, water, and extracts and beat it for about a minute. Add the Sugar Twin to the flour, baking soda, and salt. Add both of the mixtures together and beat at a low speed for another 2 minutes. Then just drop them by the teaspoon full onto an ungreased cookie sheet and bake them at 375 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.

- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 3/4 cup artificial sweetener (granulated)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 1/8 cups flour (all-purpose)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Cream the butter and sugar substitute together. Blend in the water, vanilla, and egg. Sift the flour together with the baking soda and the salt and then stir this into your creamed mixture. Mix in the chips and the nuts. Drop the dough by the heaping teaspoonful onto a baking sheet. Bake at 375 for about 10 to 12 minutes and cool on ire racks.
