Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

A chocolate chip cookie recipe is forever!
Everyone loves a good chocolate chip cookie recipe, except maybe communists and foreigners. But we don't have to pay any attention to them because we are moving and grooving in our own way. There are all kinds of variations on the original chocolate chip cookie recipe, but for those of you afraid of change- this page is for you! We're gonna give it to you straight and just how it was meant to be- the way grandma used to make 'em!

Originality is good, cookies are better
Are you ready to get baking? I can't hear you! Go on, crank up the old eight-track with some Funkadelic and let's start jammin' to the oldies. And when I say oldies, I mean goodies, and when I say goodies, I mean cookies. Drop your kids off at grandmas and get the party started. Here's the closest chocolate chip cookie recipe we've found to the original and the ingredients are:

1 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon water
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped walnuts
12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 teaspoons vanilla

Now, you're probably thinking, what am I supposed to do with all this? Well, I'm going to tell you if you'd just give me a chance!
I hope you have an oven. If you do now is the time to get that baby up to a smokin' 375 degrees, and I'm talkin' Fahrenheit. Take out a few cookie sheets and we're right on task for this chocolate chip cookie recipe!

Now do this
Cream the butter with both the sugars and then, only then, add the eggs. Dissolve that baking soda in the water (works best if water is hot). Sift the salt into the flour and slowly, yeah that's it just take it nice and easy as George Clinton serenades you as you, add the flour/salt combo to the creamed mess. Add the nuts, chocolate chips, and vanilla. Mix it up real good, but don't go crazy. Drop this concoction by the teaspoon full onto a cool cookie sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Be careful and don't get too caught up in the music or you'll burn your first batch of cookies and we will have provided this chocolate chip cookie recipe for naught.
