Making Chocolate Chip

When you were a kid and your mom was making chocolate chip cookies, chances are you couldn't wait to get in the kitchen and help. And sometimes as an adult you can't wait to get in the kitchen and make chocolate chip cookies.

Why Making Chocolate Chip Cookies is So Fun
When you're a kid, it's definitely fun to help mom pour the ingredients in the bowl. It's even fun to watch the mixer do its work and combine everything together. Really hands-on kids like to help measure the flour too because it feels so soft--and it's so messy! But the main reason making chocolate chip cookies is so fun for kids is because most moms will let them sample the dough before it goes into the oven. Some moms even make a "test" cookie to make sure they got the dough right. However, the test cookie usually doesn't have chocolate chips in it yet, so that's not as much fun as eating the final product.

It's hard to say what's better about making chocolate chip cookies--eating the dough or eating the cookies when they are still warm from the oven, then washing them down with a glass of super-cold milk. Yummo! Both of those things are fun for kids and adults alike, but it's also fun to get the praise and thanks from everyone for making chocolate chip cookies.

Of course, you can also make chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip cookie pie (which is quite delicious) chocolate chip cheesecake and even chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, but when you get right down to it, making chocolate chip cookies is the best. It's fun for the whole family! Now if only you could get the kids to be as enthusiastic about helping you clean up afterwards as they are about eating the dough....
